In the Qur'an: An-Nisa 4:86
وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٖ فَحَيُّواْ بِأَحۡسَنَ مِنۡهَآ أَوۡ رُدُّوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ حَسِيبًا
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it [in a like manner]. Indeed, Allah is ever, over all things, an Accountant.
আর তোমাদেরকে যখন অভিবাদন করা হয় তখন তোমরাও তার চেয়ে উত্তম প্রত্যাভিবাদন করবে অথবা সেটারই অনুরূপ করবে; নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ সবকিছুর হিসেব গ্রহণকারী।
اور جب تمہیں سلامتی کی کوئی دعا دی جائے تو تم بھی سلامتی کی اس سے بہتر دعا دو یا اسی کو لوٹا دو یقیناً اللہ تعالیٰ ہرچیز کا حساب کرنے والا ہے
और जब तुमसे सलाम किया जाए, तो उससे अच्छा उत्तर दो अथवा उसी को दोहरा दो। निःसंदेह अल्लाह प्रत्येक चीज़ का ह़िसाब लेने वाला है।
Apabila kamu diberi penghormatan dengan sesuatu penghormatan, maka balaslah penghormatan itu dengan yang lebih baik dari padanya, atau balaslah penghormatan itu (dengan yang serupa). Sesungguhnya Allah memperhitungankan segala sesuatu.
Bir selâm ile selâmlandığınız zaman, ondan daha güzeliyle selâm verin, yahut aynıyla mukabele edin. Şüphe yoktur ki Allah, her şeyin hesabını hakkıyla görendir.
و چون شما را تحیت (و سلام) گویند، پس پاسخی بهتر و یا همانند آن بدهید، الله بر همه چیز حسابرس است.
